How Can I Get Cheap Internet without contracts
Have you been looking at getting a cheap internet deal for your home?
There's a few options out there at the moment so I thought I would highlight the best one.
Just over a year ago I purchased the 24 Gig Data Special from CellC. I paid R1499 once-off although it was available on a 12 month subscription for R149 a month.
The data plan expired recently and I started looking for a cheap data bundle. My first stop...CellC.
I expected the data plans to drop in price as it was over a year since I paid R1499 and the competition from Telkom, MTN and Vodacom had increased.
CellC dropped the ball it seems. Their current "special" for the 24 Gig Data Bundle (2 Gigs x 12 months) costs R1999
After browsing their website I found a couple other "amazing specials":
3 Gigs of Data, valid for one year, for R599 (includes USB Modem) or
3 Gigs Data SIM, valid for one year, for R399
It seems 8ta (powered by Telkom) has the best deal out there at the moment with their "Live Big, Live 120 Gigs Big" promotion.
You get:
- 60 Gigs Day (5am - 11pm)
- 60 Gigs Night Surfer (11pm - 5am)
- One Free email account
All this for R1800 once-off
It's basically 5 Gigs (Day usage) and 5 Gigs (Night usage), total of 10 Gigs, per month.
It's the best value for money option out there at the moment, depending on whether your area has good 3G coverage, and it makes use of the Huawei Data device.
If you have a expired data plan, like me, you can go into 8ta and get one of their SIMS and load data bundles as you need them.
Their data bundles are also cheap:
R40 for 100Mb
R80 for 250Mb
R120 for 500Mb
